Research:
Jie Chen obtained the PhD degree in computer science from University of Minnesota in 2010, and the BS degree in mathematics from Zhejiang University in 2004. His research interests are in numerical linear and multilinear algebra, and various related topics including graph algorithms, data mining, and machine learning. He was a recipient of SIAM Student Paper Prize from the Society of Industrial and Applied Mathematics in 2009.
