Research:Folker Meyer is a computational biologist at Argonne National Laboratory and a senior fellow at the Computation Institute at the University of Chicago. He was trained as a computer scientists and with that came his interest in building software systems. He now is interested in building systems that further our understanding of biological data sets. In the past he has been best known for his leadership role in the development of the GenDB genome annotation system and the design and implementation of Bielefeld University's high-performance computing facility. Currently he is most interested in comparative analysis of large numbers of microbial genomes. | |
