MCS researchers co-chair clusters at major optimization conference

August 6, 2013

Two researchers from Argonne’s Mathematics and Computer Science Division co-chaired clusters at ICCOPT 2013, the International Conference on Continuous Optimization, which took place in Lisbon, Portugal, July 27–August 1.

Mihai Anitescu, a computational mathematician, was co-chair of the Applications of Continuous Optimization in Science and Engineering cluster, and Todd Munson, a computational scientist, was co-chair of the Complementarity and Variational Inequalities cluster.

ICCOPT is a flagship conference of the Mathematical Optimization Society. Held only every three years, the conference provides a forum for researchers and practitioners interested in continuous optimization.
