MCS researchers play key role in Argonne Training Program on Extreme-Scale Computing

July 30, 2018

A dozen researchers from Argonne’s Mathematics and Computer Science Division will participate in the sixth annual Argonne Training Program on Extreme-Scale Computing, to be held July 29 – August 10, 2018.

The program provides intensive, two-week training on the key skills, approaches, and tools to design, implement, and execute computational science and engineering applications on current high-end computing systems and the leadership-class computing systems of the future.

The MCS Division presentations will cover a wide range of topics:

  • Introduction to parallel computing
  • MPI
  • Data models and APIs
  • Data management
  • Time Integration and nonlinear solvers
  • Numerical optimization
  • Agile methodologies
  • Verification and developing a testing program
  • Testing, code coverage
  • Refactoring with a case study
