Argonne travel info: http://www.anl.gov/Visiting/anlil.html, including maps, driving instructions, info about the Argonne Guest House, etc.
Registration deadline: September 20, 2006 (or August 23, 2006 for non-U.S. citizens)

Registration

You must fill out the registration form to be allowed on site. Please note that this registration is not a hotel reservation; you must make hotel reservations separately.

Note: Non-U.S. citizens must register by August 23, 2006 so that the laboratory has sufficient time to process gate passes.

Transportation options from airports to Argonne

We recommend traveling to the lab by either rental car or an airport limo. When traveling to O'Hare from Argonne, you should depart approximately 3 hours before your scheduled flight (particularly on Friday afternoon, which is usually a very congested time).

Lodging

The Argonne Guest House (a facility run by the Marriot Corp.) is located on site (building 460). Single and double rooms are available for $65 and $75 per night, respectively. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are served there on Monday - Friday (note that dinner service concludes at 8pm).

For reservations, call 800-632-8990 or 630-739-6000.  A block of rooms is reserved for the "CCA Meeting"; please mention this when making your reservation. The cut-off date to reserve a room in this block is September 20, 2006. More info about the Argonne Guest House is at
   http://www.aps.anl.gov/travel/anlghhome.html
A variety of other motels/hotels are in the area also; please email if you'd like information on alternatives.

Driving instructions from O'Hare to Argonne

Directions: To reach Argonne from O'Hare Airport, drive east (toward Chicago) on Interstate 190 to the exit for Interstate 294 south (toward Indiana). Go south on Interstate 294 to the exit for Interstate 55 south (toward St. Louis). I294 is a toll road, so you will need $1.90 in change (there are two tolls at $0.80 and one at $0.30) for the automatic lanes. Alternatively, you can use the manual lanes with a human toll taker. Take I55 south to the exit for South Cass Avenue. Exit at South Cass Ave, drive over the overpass, and you will see the sign for Argonne National Laboratory on your right. Follow the signs and turn into the Laboratory entrance on Northgate Road.

For instructions from Midway, see http://www.anl.gov/Visiting/anlil.html.
