Center for Computational Science and Technology

Argonne operates the Center for Computational Science and Technology (CCST), a supercomputing facility for high-end computational science and computer science research. The CCST systems include computing and visualization resources as well as storage resources.  Primary CCST machines include:

  • a 128-node SGI Origin 2000 focused on large-scale shared memory programming and high-end visualization;
  • a 98-node IBM Scalable POWERparallel system for distributed computation;
  • and a terascale data storage facility.
