Here are the basic configuration details of the cluster.

Computing Nodes

256 dual-cpu Pentium III 500 MHz systems with 512 MB of RAM and 9G of local disk.

Login Nodes

4 dual-cpu Pentium III 500 MHz systems with 512 MB of RAM and 9G of local disk.

Visualization Nodes

32 IBM Intellistation M Pros with Matrox Millineum G400 graphics cards, 512MB of RAM, and 9G of local disk.

Storage Nodes

8 IBM Netfinity 7000s with 500 MHz Xeons, 512MB of RAM, and 300GB of disk.

Management Nodes

12 "mayor" nodes - IBM Netfinity 500s with 500 MHz PIIIs, 512MB of RAM, and 200GB of disk.

High Performance Network

The interconnect for high performance communication is 64-bit Myrinet. All systems in the cluster are on the Myrinet.

Management Network

An ethernet is used for file service and management functionality. All compute nodes and visualization nodes are connected via switched fast ethernet. All other nodes are connected via switched gigabit ethernet.

Management Infrastructure

The management infrastructure includes Baytech power units for remote power control and Comtrol Rocketports for remote serial access.
