Description:
We examine some esoteric and fundamental issues that are central to efficient simulation of transport-based problems (fluid flow, heat transfer, MHD, electromagnetics, etc.) at petascale and beyond. These issues include effective choices of discretization and solvers, as well as understanding the interaction of computational and communication complexity with hardware parameters for future extreme-scale architectures.
