Mathematics and Computer Science Division Seminar
"Solid model based parallel mesh and more"

DATE: January 26, 2009
TIME: 10:30 am
SPEAKER: Hong-Jun Kim, Midas IT Inc. and Narinsoft Inc.
LOCATION: Building 221 Conference Room A216, Argonne National Laboratory
HOST: Tim Tautges/Andrew Siegel

Description:
The motivation of my dissertation work is to develop strategies that would generate unstructured mesh in parallel computer.

The approach is based on partitioning of both surfaces and bodies across processors. Each processor is assigned a group of bodies and surfaces, with some surfaces shared between processors.

Mesh generation is performed directly from solid geometry models and entities of the geometry models are units of partitioning and load balancing.

Future work about the parallel mesh generation and other mesh generation related works done in my current company since will also be talked.
