SC09 will be the 22nd consecutive year of the SC Conference series – once again featuring an exceptional Technical Program, industry and research exhibits, Education Program and many other activities. For 2009, three new Technology Thrust areas have been added: Bio-Computing, Sustainability, and the 3D Internet.

Established 21 years ago, the conference has built a diverse community of participants including researchers, scientists, computing center staff members, IT and data center management, application developers, computer manufacturing personnel, program managers, journalists and congressional staffers. This diversity is one of the conference's main strengths, making it a yearly "must attend" forum for stakeholders throughout the technical computing community.
