"The International Workshop on Unipolar Arc"

DATE: January 29, 2010
TIME: 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM
LOCATION: Building 240 TCS Conference Center, Argonne National Laboratory
HOST: Jim Norem, Ahmed Hassanein and Zeke Insepov

Description:
The International Workshop on Unipolar Arc will explore high-electric field gradient arcing in many environments: tokamaks, accelerators, laser ablation, spark gaps, cathodic arcs, e beam welding, explosive electron mission, etc., to try to understand if there are mechanisms in common and if data from one field is relevant and useful in others. Unipolar arcs may or may not be a general phenomenon, however the idea may be potentially very useful in understanding plasma material interactions.
