"Dimension reduction in uncertainty quantification of nuclear engineering models"

Description:
In our larger research effort, we approximate the effect of uncertainty in the inputs of a complex simulation model by a hybrid polynomial regression method that uses first-order derivatives of the model as additional fitting conditions. We shall now discuss dimensionality reduction required for the models with large dimension of the uncertainty space. Two other aspects: automatic differentiation, and selection of best polynomial basis for approximation will also be mentioned.
