As a research assistant in the Mathematics and Computer Science Division at Argonne, Jeffrey Larson worked with researchers on derivative-free optimization (DFO) problems and on implementation techniques for automatic tuning of algorithms. He is coauthor of four papers (and lead author of three of these) in peer-reviewed journals, in topics ranging from mathematics teaching in middle schools to noisy optimization to training methods for neural networks for brain lesion recognition.
Jeff received his Ph.D. from the University of Colorado, Denver.
