Novel Storage Architectures

This two-year project  is developing a novel storage architecture that provides efficient, resilient, and scalable storage capablities for emerging extreme-scale systems and applications.

The objectives include the following:

  • Redefine the storage service API
  • Explore multiple design paths
  • Converge on one prototype with potential for productization
  • Demonstrate advantages for problems of interest to the sponsors

Argonne's role is development of a resilient prototype, security infrastructure integration, application workload simulation, autonomous data reorganization, and downselection on local store.


The project lead is Los Alamos National Laboratory. The project involves collaboration with Clemson University, Sandia National Laboratories, Texas A&M University, and the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
