The Portable, Extensible Toolkit for Scientific computation (PETSc, pronounced PET-see) is a suite of open source software libraries for the parallel solution of linear and nonlinear algebraic equations. PETSc uses the Message Passing Interface (MPI) for all of its parallelism.
