We describe abstractions for creation and management of distributed, dynamic runtime environments in Grids. We present how features of the Open Grid Services Infrastructure (OGSI) are leveraged to implement this architecture. We develop GSLab, a distributed, large-scale platform for deploying and experimenting with Grid Services and test these abstractions in practice.
