Getting Started With Matlab

  • While the free version of Kermit Sigmon's primer for Matlab is quite a bit out of date, I still find it to be an excellent and fairly rapid start, particularly for math-oriented grad students with a moderate computational experience, as I was in 1993.
  • A web version of an even earlier edition of the primer can be found online in various places, for example here.
  • Mathworks (the company that develops Matlab) has several "getting started" webinars available online for free. I have found some here.
  • Cleve Moler's book is also freely-for-individual-use available at the Mathworks website.
