See the man pages for MPE_Seq_begin and MPE_Seq_end, which can be used to create a sequential section in a parallel program. There is a useful error handler in MPE_Errors_call_dbx_in_xterm. The mpe library can also be compiled with debugging code included. (See the -mpedbg configure option.)
