Development Team
- John Anderson and Virendra Patel were the
lead investigators of the
Environmental Hydrology team.
The prototype demoed at SC98 was developed by members of
the Environmental Hydrology team and collaborators at the Mathematics and Computer Sciences Division of Argonne National Lab.
Argonne:
- Michael Tobis designed the workbench
interface and coordinated the collaboration between Argonne and the University
of Wisconsin that produced the demonstration product.
- Olle Larsson provided the Globus
expertise and built the Java-Globus interface
- John Michalakes provided the parallel
weather model and added client code to communicate with a coupler
EH Team:
Univ. Wisconsin-Madison
- Robert Jacob designed the coupler code,
coordinated work between the Universities of Wisconsin and Illinois, and
managed the integration of the component models
- Nick Rasmussen built the socket codes,
provided VisAD expertise, and modified the Cave5D application to allow displays
at multiple resolutions
- Leigh Orf modified the hydrology code to
run in the coupled system
Univ. Illinois--Urbana-Champaign
- Bob Wilhelmson and Brian Jewett provided
boundary condition data for the weather model and helped us run the test case
- Doug Johnston provided hydrology
expertise and boundary condition data for the hydrology code
Univ. Oregon
- John Conery provided and benchmarked the
hydrology code
Other Credits
- Bill Hibbard is the prinicpal author of
Vis5D and VisAD
- Glen Wheless and Cathy Lascara designed
the Cave5D application
