Scientific ComponentsThe main task of the CCA Forum, which is open to the scientific community, is to define a component software model that specifically targets high-performance scientific applications. In addition to producing a specification, the CCA Forum addresses technical issues, such as transition from legacy code to components, high-performance adaptive runtime environments for component applications, and multilanguage components I am involved in several projects that deal with issues arising when component-based software engineering practices are applied to the development of scientific components. My work includes the development of common interfaces and implementation of numerical components, defining a quality of service architecture for scientific components, and software infrastructure for the development and deployment of scientific components. I have been an active member of the CCA Forum since 1999. |
